How do I set a countdown?
Use whole numbers: 0–99 hours and 0–59 minutes or seconds. Empty fields count as zero. The total must be more than zero, up to 99:59:59. A preset sets the duration without starting it.
Can I pause, resume, and start again?
Pause keeps the exact remaining time, and Resume continues it. To change a running or paused timer, choose Reset first. When time is up, Start again repeats the duration you last started with.
How do I test or turn off the sound?
Select Test sound to hear a short sample, even if Sound is off. Check your volume and browser settings. Sound off silences the completion chime; the visible Time's up message remains. If audio is blocked, the timer still works on screen.
Will it alert me in the background or with my screen locked?
A background tab may delay the sound. Locking the screen, putting the device to sleep, or closing this page can prevent an alert. Keep the device awake and the page open; this is not a reliable wake-up alarm. When you return, an elapsed timer completes once.
What happens if I refresh or leave this page?
The timer returns to Ready, using your last valid duration when browser storage is available. It does not restore remaining time or keep counting across pages. Only the duration, sound preference, and shared theme are saved.
Which clock does the countdown use?
The countdown compares its target end time with your device's current time. Changing the system clock can change the remaining time. This page does not keep the screen awake or use a server time service.
